“Wonderful”, “first class” and “superb” ambulance staff have been praised by patients in a new report.
More than 100 people who used the emergency ambulance service in April completed questionnaires and rated the care they had received.
Ninety-eight percent of patients said they were very satisfied, satisfied or fairly satisfied with the overall service they received.
Figures from the latest patient experience report, published this week, reveal that 98% of respondents rated the handling of their call as very acceptable, acceptable or fairly acceptable and 98% said the length of time they waited for a response as very acceptable, acceptable or fairly acceptable.
Ninety-six percent added that they were very or fairly involved in decisions made regarding their care.
Some of the comments include “excellent”, “very professional” and “first class.” A west Suffolk patient said “wonderful workers, always a smile and comforting”, a Hertfordshire patient said “I felt safe and confident within their care”, a west Norfolk patient said “always been treated with respect, dignity and kindness” and an Essex patient said “they all do a wonderful job”.
Robert Morton, Chief Executive of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST), said: “I’m delighted with this latest report which again demonstrates the excellent care and compassion our staff deliver every day. Our patient satisfaction ratings remain extremely high, despite the increased demand and pressure placed on the service.
“I’d like to thank all our staff and volunteers for their hard work. We value all feedback from our patients so that we can continue to improve the service we deliver.”
