Expansion plans for Riverside Business Centre in Tilbury approved

RIVERSIDE Business Centre in Fort Road, Tilbury, got the go ahead to expand – by 20 units – at last Thursday’s (30 June) Planning Committee.

The expansion will include 20 new business units and car parking.

Cllr Tom Kelly, chair of the Planning Committee, was thrilled to agree plans to increase business growth in the area. He said: “This is great for Thurrock.”

The council owned centre currently houses 39 businesses. The new units, like the existing spaces, have been approved for B1(c), B2 and B8 uses – meaning they can be used for a range of adaptable commercial purposes from office to industrial and storage purposes.

“It is great for our local businesses. Multi-purpose units like these are fantastic for small and medium-sized enterprises and are ideally located close to the Port of Tilbury and the major road network.

“I’m pleased we are continuing to support business growth and investment within Thurrock.”
