UKIP motion calls for "underperforming" councillors to face re-election

A MOTION was passed at Thurrock Council that could see "underperforming councillors" face re-election.

The original UKIP motion wanted a more robust form of "recall". A re-worded motion supported by both the Conservatives and Labour groups (and the independent). was passed.

The motion was proposed by UKIP cllr Jack Duffin. He said: "If you are not performing, you are out the door."
