Olympics: Thurrock’s Emily impresses Sir Clive Woodward in Rugby Seven’s performance

GREAT Britain’s women began the first Olympic rugby sevens competition with comfortable 29-3 and 40-0 victories over Brazil and Japan in Rio.

It was Thurrock T-Bird’s own Emily Scott who was singled out for praise by World Cup winning coach, Sir Clive Woodward for her performance as she scored an excellent try in the victory against Brazil.

Sir Clive is working as a co-commentator on the BBC for the coverage of the Rio Olympics of 2016.

Amy Wilson-Hardy scored twice in the first half against Japan, and Heather Fisher smashed through to round off the scoring, with three tries in between.

Jasmine Joyce scored twice in the win over the hosts earlier in the day.
