Rotary Club of Thurrock Gateway raises hundreds for Medicins Sans Frontiers

THE Rotary Club Thurrock Gateway held a Grand Garden Party on Saturday 13th August to raise funds for Medicins Sans Frontieres (Doctors without borders)

It costs just £300 to send a doctor into a zone for one week. Thirty-plus friends, relatives and supporters enjoyed games, a quiz and a raffle as well as being entertained by Louis Sorrell-Wilde, who sang Rat Pack, Neil Diamond and Michael Buble classics to

Thurrock Gateway President Philip Hills chose MSF as they provide emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural or man-made disasters.

MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.

Philip would like to thank all those who attended and those who contributed on-line as a Grand Total of £735 was raised to ensure at least two doctors will be supported in their vital work.
