A FEMALE pedestrian was taken to hospital after being knocked down by a vehicle on London Road in Grays.

An ambulance service spokesperson said: "We received a call yesterday at 10.01pm to reports of an RTC involving a pedestrian on London Road in Grays.

"We sent a rapid response vehicle and ambulance crew to assist and treated a woman believed to be in her 20s for lower back pains.

"After receiving treatment at the scene she was taken to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital for further care in a stable condition".
