Man who fell from moving vehicle in South Ockendon dies

ESSEX Police has appealed for witnesses to a road incident at South Ockendon in which a man suffered fatal injuries.

Officers were called by the ambulance service to Humber Avenue at about 6.40pm on Wednesday August 17 following reports that a passenger had fallen from a moving car.

The victim, a 23-year-old man from South Ockendon, received a serious head injury and was taken to Queen’s Hospital, Romford. He died at the hospital in the early hours of Wednesday August 24.

Officers from the Essex Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and wish to hear from any witnesses who saw the man fall from the vehicle, a black Vauxhall Astra. The incident happened near the entrance to Dilkes Academy.
