ESSEX Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was found injured.
A passer-by found him lying in Fairham Avenue, South Ockendon, at 1.35am on Friday September 9.
Officers and the ambulance service were contacted and he was taken to hospital with a head injury. He is being treated at Queens Hospital in Romford, where his condition is described as critical.
Detective Sergeant Phil Moulsher, of Grays CID, said: "We are trying to establish how the man came to be injured and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw or heard anything to please contact us.”
The man is believed to be aged in his 40s or 50s. He is white, about 5ft 10ins tall, with fair greying, receding hair. He has tattoos on his arms, including a snake tattoo, and was wearing a black T shirt, navy blue shorts and grey deck shoes.
