A 57-run fifth wicket partnership between Keith Dhannie and Liam Waters put Belhus on the road to a 21-run victory over Wickford at North Stifford on Sunday.
Dhannie scored 70 valuable runs and he then featured in a sixth wicket stand of 47 with Jack Plane, who made 24. Earlier in the innings, openers Mike Randall and Chris Baker scored 29 from the first four overs as Randall hit 15 and Baker contributed 39. After the break, A. McKenna struck 55 from just 54 deliveries while D. Spooner reached 34.
Despite a 33 from S. Brown, Wickford fell marginally short. For the home side, Dhannie capped a fine all-round performance by taking 4-31 from six overs, while Jack Plane and John Wilson picked up one wicket each.
