biz-and-skills

biz-confBUSINESS leaders have an opportunity to shape economic activity in the borough at the Thurrock Business Conference hosted by the Thurrock Business Board in collaboration with Thurrock Council on 15 November 2016.

As well as showcasing the latest support available to small and medium sized businesses in Thurrock, attendees will also hear from Purfleet Centre Regeneration Limited (PCRL), who will be providing information on the exciting plans for the regeneration of Purfleet.

The conference forms part of the council’s work with the Thurrock Business Board to improve networking opportunities for local businesses, giving them a chance to have their say but also showcase the vast opportunities available within Thurrock now and in the coming years.

Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, Cllr Mark Coxshall, said: “Businesses in Thurrock are thriving with more opportunities for our residents and entrepreneurs than ever before.

“It’s fitting that this event – the seventh to date – coincides with Global Entrepreneurial Week (GEW), an international initiative to inspire millions to engage in innovative activity and connect them to potential collaborators which I fully support.

“Because of the timing of the event and the Entrepreneurial Week, we have invited local small business start-up, Honestly Fresh Food to discuss what support was available to them locally.

“It is really important to continue to empower local businesses to thrive and I’m pleased to explain there is a lot on offer. We are actively seeking views of businesses to form the Local Plan and supporting local stores improve their shop fronts.

“The Thurrock Council regeneration team is on hand to offer advice and support on government grants, publicly-backed finance and loans as well as mentoring and consultancy advice.”

To learn more about what’s on offer, come along to the free event taking place at Park Inn by Radisson on Tuesday 15 November from 8am to 11am. More information can be found at thurrock.gov.uk/business-events
