GATEWAY Academy Year 11 Music students organized and ran this year’s annual Christmas Concert as part of their core option on their Btec Music course.
The concert saw 80 students from Year 7-11 work on the production from sound and lighting to set design, musicians, singers and dancers. The evening was hosted by Year 11 student Chidera, who kept the packed audience entertained throughout the entire show.
Head of Music, Mrs Michelle Green, said “I am so incredibly proud of the students, every one of them, for the show that they have just delivered. A lot of hard work went into the production and this was rewarded with sell out performances and some stand out newcomers who have the potential to thrive in the music department.”
Head of School, Miss Grainne McLaughlin, said “The Year 11 Music students put on a fantastic show under the direction of Mrs Green and her team. Chidera was a great host and to see students from all year groups perform to such a high level was just beautiful!”
