St Joseph’s Primary thank community after fire forces school to close

A WONDERFUL local spirit of co-operation evolved recently, after a small electrical fire in the kitchen at St.Josephs Catholic Primary School and a subsequent investigation highlighted an electrical issue that on the grounds of safety for the children and staff, made it necessary to close the school with immediate effect.

Joan Risby, Chair of Governors and Mr Bragg,Headteacher would like to pass on a massive ‘Thank You’ to Hassenbrook Academy, Stanford-le-hope Primary School and Stanford-le-hope Children’s Centre for the generous use of their facilities during this very challenging situation.

The Chair of Governors Joan Risby wrote to each parent thanking them for organising urgent child care for several days and all the School Staff, The Diocese, Local Authority, Consultants and Contractors who worked tirelessly to keep the closure to a minimum.

A true spirit of co-operation by all schools enabling St Joseph’s children to make the most of this disruption to their daily schooling, which by all accounts the children thoroughly enjoyed…
