Thurrock households face up to £60 a year rise in council tax

THURROCK households may have to dig deep again as they face close to 5% increase in council tax for the next financial year.

At a meeting of the ruling Tory cabinet, it was recommended that a Band D property would see an increase of 4.89% or £57.15.

That means Band D Council Tax bills rise from £1,169.46 to £1,226.61.

71% of Thurrock properties are Band A-C.
