MEMBERS of a social care team have marked the death of a much-loved colleague by raising almost £1,000 in her memory.
Linda Chandler died last October and to mark her passing colleagues in Thurrock Council’s Adult Social Care team organised a variety of activities over the
Christmas period and they have donated the proceeds to St Luke’s Hospice.
Among the events they organised were a ‘Guess How Many Sweets’ competition, a quiz, a cake sale and a colourful Christmas jumper day. Staff at the Council also supported a raffle.
A spokesperson for St Luke’s Hospice said: “We are very grateful that the treasured memories of someone held in such high regard as Linda obviously was have born such a legacy for the Hospice. Our thanks to everyone concerned with organising the events and all those who supported them.”
