Easter entertainment set for Coalhouse Fort

COALHOUSE Fort will be opening its doors for some Easter entertainment in April.

Young visitors to the East Tilbury fort will be able to hunt and roll eggs – as well as having the chance to drop them nearly 20 feet to see if they break.

On Tuesdays 4 and 11 April the fort will be running an Easter egg hunt and an egg-rolling competition. Visitors will be asked to solve the clues to find their Easter egg surprise, then have the chance to decorate an egg and enter an egg-rolling competition to see how far it can travel.

On the Thursdays 6 and 13 April the fort is hosting an egg-drop challenge.

Competitors will have to design and make their own protective case for the un-boiled egg, which can be decorated, so it will survive a drop of over six meters.

All sessions run from 10am to noon and 2pm to 4pm and entry is by ticket only – tickets are for children, adults go free – and the fun and games are suitable for young people aged five and above.

Children must be supervised at all times. Families are requested to ensure they arrive five minutes early at the entrance to Coalhouse Fort and come dressed for the outdoors as well as being prepared to get a bit messy!

Tickets cost £5 and can be booked through thurrock.gov.uk/events.
