A temporary library has been set up at East Tilbury Village Hall after the recent fire at East Tilbury Library. The library is open on Thursday & Friday 10:00am until 3:30pm. The Knit & Natter group will continue to meet, and starts at 2pm on Thursdays. Also the Baby Rhyme Time will meet there, starting at 11am on Fridays.
UKIP’s East Tilbury Cllr, James Baker said: “It is great to see local residents coming together after the horrific incident that robbed us of a vital local community asset.
“I would like to say a massive thank you for the work put in by the Chairman Chris Shepherd and the rest of the Village Hall Committee as well as all the people the have donated books.
“I continue to hope that Thurrock Council will build a new ‘Hub’ like they have in many communities around the borough. East Tilbury deserves to be given equal support as it sometimes feels like we are a ‘forgotten’ ward.
