TWO people were arrested by British Transport Police (BTP) at Chafford Hundred station after an alleged race attack on a member of staff.
A 25-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of fare evasion and committing a public order offence and a woman, aged 39, was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault.
YT understands that the alleged victim was a member of station staff.
A BTP spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Chafford Hundred station at 5.45pm yesterday evening following reports of a disturbance.
“Police arrived and arrested a 25-year-old man from Barking on suspicion of fare evasion and a public order offence.
“A 39-year-old woman from Barking was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault.
“Both were bailed to return to police custody at a later date.”
