Thurrock Council leader issues statement over Westminster terror killings

THE LEADER OF Thurrock Council has issued a statement over the terror attack at Westminster.

Cllr Rob Gledhill, Leader of Thurrock Council, said: “Although details are still being released, the events which took place earlier today, Wednesday 22 March, are both horrific and saddening.

“I think I speak on behalf of Thurrock to say that our thoughts, prayers and wishes go to all the families affected by these terrible events. Our special thoughts go to the family and colleagues of the Police Officer who sadly lost their life in the line of duty. It goes without saying that we praise and commend their bravery and the ultimate sacrifice they made trying to protect others.

“To our hardworking doctors, nurses and medical staff, our brave police officers and those who helped just because they were there – our thanks and gratitude to you all. You demonstrate the values we as a nation should pride ourselves with.

“As more details emerge, I urge everybody to remain alert – we must not let actions such as these affect our way of life – but we should all remain vigilant to make sure terror never wins.”
