SPORTS Quest LTD held their first annual 10k run event which saw 60 runners take part on a blustery day at Blackshots Field. Many runners had a lot of interest in the event due to it’s community feel and local area. Many participants were looking forward to the event and could not wait to get started for what is hoped to be a thriving 10k event.
Mayor of Thurrock, cllr Cathy Kent, was also in attendance who announced the official launch of the 10k Race. The Mayor also handed out medals to the first three male and female runners and also greeted and congratulated all finishers of the 10k run.
Many stalls were located at the event which ranged from Sports Quest LTD hub, Lady Rock, Yoga with Chelsea, Soul Landscaping, including charity stalls NSPCC Charity and Epilepsy Charity, food provided by Honestly Fresh Food and LB Blundells Food Van and bouncy castles from Kushty Castles.
Cannonball Timing was also involved at the 10k, providing runners with timed running for their run where all participants done incredibly well battling the strong winds across Blackshots. Everyone involved showed great determination, passion and outstanding sportsmanship for a fantastic race.
Sports Quest LTD have already announced their next Annual 10k Run for 2018 where you can sign up and take part in a thriving local event. Next years event is planning and looking to be bigger, better and more thriving throughout the community to give the community of Thurrock an opportunity to take part and visit the Sports Quest event.
