Premier Division
Hannakins Farm returned to winning ways but had to come back from a 2-0 half-time deficit at the hands of Rayleigh Town. The Premier Division leaders were able to turn a defeat into a 3-2 victory due to a second half display that saw Dave Limber and Elliot Vile level the game up; there was then late drama as Dean Nevil scored a 93rd minute winner. Springfield however maintained their own late season title charge with a 2-1 win over Manford Way. Adam Vyse scored twice and with Jack Mundy also putting his name on the score sheet. David Leech scored the Manford Way reply. Harold Hill remain bottom of the table after a 1-1 home draw with Harold Wood Athletic. Reiss Kingsley scored for the Essex Premier Cup runners-up, while Seye Okunloca scored the Harold Hill effort and then failed to convert a late penalty which could have seen the relegation battlers claim all three points rather than pick up just one. Fellow relegation battlers White Ensign also picked up a point after a 1-1 draw with Frenford Senior. Billy Whatling was the source of the Frenford goal with Adam Gomez supplying the White Ensign goal. Tommy Hollingsworth, Lee Turner and Jacob Cleaver scored a goal apiece for Leigh Ramblers as they beat Buckhurst Hill 3-2. The defeat leaves Buckhurst Hill perched just above the relegation zone. Kelvedon Hatch seem to be coming into form as we enter the final throngs of the season. Last season’s champions have had an indifferent campaign that has seen them become the draw specialists of the division. However they followed last weekend’s 5-1 humbling of Hannakins Farm with a similar score line over Bishops Stortford Swifts. Lee Cody, Jack Munroe, Dan Tapper, Joe Heath and Ryan Parker all posted goals that cancelled out Sam Prendergast’s effort for Swifts.
Division One
Basildon Town took a step closer to winning this season’s Division One title as an Ashley Blackburn brace plus a strike from Chris Charlery ensured that their all-ready promoted team went on to win 3-0. Title rivals Catholic United suffered a hangover from winning the Essex Premier Cup in midweek as they lost 1-0 at Old Chelmsfordians. Newbury Forest are up to third after Matt Connolly and Mostee Abid fired home the goals that secured a 2-0 victory over Newham United. Shenfield AFC also won 2-0 as goals from James Brett and Tommy Oliver helped them overcome Great Baddow.
Division Two
FC Hamlets are homing in on promotion as well as the Division Two title after they closed the gap on Sungate to six points after rifling seven past Ryan on Saturday. John Gilroy, Charlie Heatly and Pa Jagne all scored twice in the 7-1 win with Ishmael Carter also hitting the net. FC Hamlets have two games in hand over Sungate and also have a superior goal difference. Steve Merrick scores both Ongar Town goals in a 2-1 win over Rochford Town. Matty Smith scored the Rochford goal as they end their season sitting in the relegation zone. Old Barkabbeyans will end the season bottom of the table but they at least ended the campaign with a win. Marc Dennis scored a brace that helped Old Barkabbeyans beat Upminster 2-1. Matthew Taylor scored the Upminster reply.
Division Three
Shoebury Town recovered from last week’s defeat at Frenford Senior Res. with a 2-0 win at Rayleigh Town Res. which gets their promotion wagon back on the road. Rayleigh started the day in the promotion mix up but goals from Kyle Ross and John McMonigle put paid to that. Shoebury Town now need one more point to secure the remaining promotion place. Old Chelmsfordians Res. eke out a 1-0 win at Harold Wood Athletic Res.
