AN air ambulance was called to South Ockendon on Tuesday afternoon.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 5.30pm yesterday to Lime Close.
“An ambulance crew, rapid response vehicle and air ambulance from Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were dispatched to a woman who was taken to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital for further care in a serious condition.
