A CARETAKER at the Stifford Clays Medical Centre has been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Pamela Britton has been given the British Empire Medal (BEM) for her services to healthcare at the Crammavill Street surgery.
The gymnastic coach behind Olympic successes like Max Whitlock has also been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Scott Hann, from the South Essex Gym Club, has been made an MBE. He was named coach of the year at the British Gymnastics National Awards in 2016.
Hann coaches a number of top stars, including double Olympic champion Max Whitlock, at the South Essex Gymnastics Club in Basildon.
Author Ronald Blythe, from Colchester, who wrote the classic Akenfield about life in rural Suffolk is made a CBE.
