Grays teenager in court charged with a string of motoring offences

A TEENAGER from Grays has been charged with a number of driving offences.

The seventeen-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared recently at Basildon youth court.

The charges are as follows:

On 03/03/2017 at Grays drove a motor vehicle on Victoria Avenue, Grays, while disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence.

On 29/01/2017 at Grays, without lawful excuse, damaged a car intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged.

On 03/03/2017 at Grays used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause that person to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against him by any person, or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence by him whereby that person was likely to believe that such violence would be used, or it was likely that such violence would be provoked.

On 03/03/2017 at Grays used a motor vehicle, on a road, or other public place, namely Victoria Avenue, Grays, when there was not in force in relation to that use such a policy of insurance.

On 03/03/2017 at Grays, knowing that a mechanically propelled vehicle, had been taken without the consent of the owner or other lawful authority drove the said vehicle, and after the vehicle was unlawfully taken and before it was recovered, owing to the driving of the vehicle, an accident occurred by which damage of less than £5000 was caused to property other than the vehicle, namely a Ford Fiesta.

The teenager has been remanded on conditional bail until July 11th.
