ESSEX Firefighters were alerted to reports of a fire on the grass verge of the M25 between junctions 29 and 30, northbound.

Firefighters worked hard to extinguish the fire by 8:30pm working with the Highways agency to establish appropriate lane closures so the incident could be dealt with safely.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.
