FOR the second time in a matter of months, Essex Police allowed a rave in Thurrock to continue.
Not so long ago, a rave in the borough would be stamp out immediately using specific legal powers.
But on Saturday night after a number of residents expressed their concerns about noise coming from the Davy Down area, police decided not to pull the plug.
An Essex Police spokesperson said “Police were called to reports of noise disturbance in woods close to Cherwell Grove, South Ockendon, at 3am on July 16.
“Officers attended and found 200 people taking part in an unauthorised event.
“Following an assessment of the situation based on the threat, harm and risk posed to the participants and local residents a decision was made to allow the event to continue while being monitored by officers.
