Orsett’s Nawaz Ahmed Jan put in a fine all-round match-winning performance at Orsett Recreation Ground on Saturday. He followed up his half-century by bagging four wickets at a cost of just 27 runs from six overs. Joe Joyce top scored for Belhus with 39, while Billy Winter contributed 27 runs. Earlier, Matthew Doran collected 4-27 for the North Stifford-based team and Joe Joyce finished with 3-32. Joyce remains as leading run-scorer in the Shepherd Neame Essex League (all divisions) while Doran is the leading wicket-taker in division one.

Jack Martin-Hussey was in devastating form for Belhus as he picked up six visiting batsmen for 35 runs. Earlier, Imran Mohammed bludgeoned his way to an imperious 63-run tally.

Liam Waters was one of the few Belhus batsmen to emerge with any credit as he scored 27 from the middle order. Jaydeep Dhuria wreaked havoc in the home batting with five wickets at a cost of just ten runs from six overs, which included two maidens. Earlier, undefeated batsmen Gurmit Bhatia and Alan Bouquet took the match away from the home side with 49 and 39 runs respectively. In their division, Alan Maidment is the leading wicket-taker while Richard Waters is the leading run-maker.
