January treat for Opera and Ballet fans at Vue Thurrock

GIVE yourself something to look forward in January at Vue Thurrock, with a fantastic line-up of Big Screen Entertainment.

The month opens with a sumptuous performance of Rigoletto from the Royal Opera. Directed by David McVicar and based on Verdi’s potent tragedy, the production sees the Duke of Mantua’s court jester, Rigoletto, attempting to save his daughter from the clutches of his womanising master.

This is followed by another romantic tragedy as the Bolshoi Ballet perform Shakespearian classic, Romeo and Juliet. Alexei Ratmansky stages the company’s premiere of his production, as the Bolshoi tell the story of literature’s most celebrated star-crossed lovers.

Johnny Carr, Alternative Content Manager at Vue UK and Ireland, commented: “2017 was an exceptional year for our Big Screen Events calendar and we’re picking up right where we left off in 2018.

“Also available at the end of the month is the Met Opera’s adaptation of Puccini classic, Tosca. The production features legendary German tenor, Jonas Kaufmann as Tosca’s lover, Cavardossi.”
