THIS morning (Friday 19 January 2018), Essex Chambers of Commerce hosted a Skills Summit at DP World London Gateway with Essex Businesses to discuss skills and employment issues.
They were delighted to be joined by The Rt. Hon Rob Halfon MP and The Rt. Hon Priti Patel MP, who heard from the businesses present about issues they face in recruiting and training apprentices and young people generally.
Denise Rossiter, Chief Executive of Essex Chambers of Commerce said: “This morning’s meeting was an excellent example of how Essex Chambers of Commerce can bring the business community and senior Parliamentarians together to consider issues facing employers and trainers on a day-to-day basis.
“It was an extremely stimulating discussion and there was a real passion in the room to work together in the future to ensure we can help create the skilled workforce for the future, that Essex needs.”
