LETTERS will be making their way to residents this week announcing two new providers delivering home care in Thurrock.
John Stanley and Thurrock Care at Home, our Council Service will continue to deliver home care in certain areas of the borough, but the Council is also introducing two new organisations, Guardian Home Care and Castlerock.
Although not all care providers will change for residents, those that do will be introduced over the next few months with current providers staying in place in the interim.
Portfolio Holder for Social Care, Cllr Sue Little said: “I’m pleased Thurrock has taken steps to change the way care is provided, keeping services local to people and retendering to give more stability and reassurance to residents.
“We understand that these changes may be concerning for people however Providers have been chosen based on the quality of their services and their ability to demonstrate that they can care for the people of Thurrock meeting the Council’s expectations. Direct Payments will remain available as an option for care provision, should residents wish to have them
“Communication is really important during times of change and the Council will be regularly updating residents who receive home care services. You can contact Thurrock First if you need any more information on 01375 511000.”
