New Lipodema group set to meet

A NEW group for women who have Lipoedema is having its inaugural meeting at St. Luke’s Hospice Nethermayne, Basildon, on Friday 20th April between 2 – 4pm.

Paula Henderson, who will be heading up the group with her team, explains: “Lipoedema is an underdiagnosed, inherited disease, only found in women, that results in fat being accumulated below the waist disproportionately to the rest of your body and first noticed during times such as pregnancy, puberty and the menopause.

“The aim of our ‘ Lipoedema Only’ new group is to support, offer advice and signpost women who have Lipoedema to treatment as well as chat and have fun.

A representative from Lipoedema UK will be on hand at this meeting to talk about this little recognised condition.

LipoedemaIf you ‘think’ you may have Lipoedema or already have a diagnosis you are welcome to turn up for the meeting we will be delighted to meet you’’
