THE number of caravans on Blackshots playing fields continues to grow.
Caravans started to arrive over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Others have turned up today.
With a legal process having to be undertaken, some have speculated that they are so spread out in order to necessitate a number of actions.
With the encampments also being so near playing equipment and on playing fields as well, it is somewhat of a surprise that the relevant authorities haven’t overseen an immediate “moving on” notice (sec 61).

Have the police and the council given up?? They should be dragging these vans away to the breakers yard and destroy them .
Absolutely Patrickh. And they wonder why people hate travelers so much.
Emailed TBC yesterday regarding this issue…
“As the direction to leave notice served on 25 May to the travellers currently encamped on Blackshots playing field has not been complied with, can you let me know when and if you will be seeking a court order to remove them”

Not surprisingly I have not heard back……..
We need to build a reputation, both residents and authorities, of a zero tolerance area for travellers so that they know Thurrock is a no-go area for these type of people! While we remain a soft touch we’ll keep having to put up with their filth and anti-social behaviour. Treat fire with fire.
