From Amazon Tilbury to Amazon Seattle
AMAZON invited employees at their fulfilment centres across the UK to tell us what they like best about working at Amazon and why it is the right place for them. More than 800 employees from across the UK and dozens from each site took part.
One person from each fulfilment centre will visit Amazon’s headquarters in Seattle this October as part of the ‘I Found the Right Place’ programme.
Rosie, 19, was the lucky Tilbury employee chosen for the trip. Operations apprentice Rosie, wrote: “I am one of the apprentices and it has allowed me to learn so many different skills and processes. I can’t wait to see what my future brings with Amazon.”
During the five-day trip to Seattle, Rosie and Amazon colleagues from sites across the UK will be shown around the city and enjoy a trip up the Space Needle. They will also go on a tour of the Amazon campus and the robotics fulfilment centre in Kent, Washington, where they will meet Amazon’s Chief Scientist.
Rosie said: “I have surprised myself with all that I have achieved and how quickly I have grown at Amazon both at work and as a person too. Within three weeks of being at Amazon I became an instructor, the feeling you have when you see someone progress as a result of your help is very rewarding. I have found the right place!”
Prajvin Prakash, General Manager at Amazon’s Tilbury fulfilment centre said: “We take pride in providing a positive workplace and a great environment and I am delighted that Rosie will be jetting off to Seattle for the trip of a lifetime.”
