DP World London Gateway and ATL Haulage Contractors Ltd make special, festive delivery to Little Havens Hospice.

DP World London Gateway and ATL Haulage Contractors Ltd. teamed up to make a special, festive delivery to Little Havens Hospice.

AN ATL truck, decked out in a Christmas sleigh wrap, and with Father Christmas behind the wheel, delivered presents to the children’s hospice in Hadleigh.

The two Stanford-le-Hope-based logistics companies delivered an array of craft kits, board games, Play-Doh, lava lamps and other sensory toys to be enjoyed by children receiving specialist care at Little Havens over the course of the next year.

Andrew Bowen, Port Operations Director, DP World London Gateway, said: “It’s a privilege to support the important work of Little Havens Hospice and through them the families and individuals that they support. DP World London Gateway has been supporting Little Havens Hospice for the last five years through donations, fundraising and volunteering. At the most recent annual charity quiz, we raised nearly £20,000 for the charity.

“We’re delighted to partner with ATL Haulage Contractors – one of a number of businesses based on our Logistics Park – this Christmas to gift toys to the centre. We hope that children and their families staying at the hospice enjoy quality time while playing together with them.”

Jamie Woodward, Co-owner of ATL Haulage Contractors Ltd., said: “This Christmas, we really wanted to do something to support Little Havens Hospice, and delivering presents in a ‘Santa truck’ seemed like a great way to spread some festive cheer.”

Mr. Woodward continued: “This is one of a number of trips the truck will be taking! On Friday, the sleigh truck is heading for Whitechapel to deliver gloves, hats and other essential items to a homeless charity. At this time of year, it is the least we can do to support those in need.”

Tanya King, Business Development Manager for Little Havens Hospice, said: “I would like to thank DP World London Gateway and ATL Haulage Contractors for their kind donations.”

Ms King added: “At Little Havens Hospice, we believe in making every day count, and enabling the children that we care for who have life limiting or life-threatening illnesses to play, like any other child, is part of this. I know that the toys that have been donated will bring so much joy to them!”
