Businesses in Thurrock urged to apply for share of £5.1million funding to boost creative economy
BUSINESSES in the creative, cultural and digital sectors are being encouraged to take advantage of a new £5.1million grants and support programme being spearheaded by Thurrock Council.
The South East Creative, Cultural and Digital Programme (SECCADS) is an ambitious programme, led by Thurrock Council and running across Essex, Kent and East Sussex.
Between now and December 2020, it aims to help more than 370 companies and sole-traders with business support or match-funded grants of up to £20,000, contributing a major boost to the creative economy in the South East.
Grants awarded under the scheme can be used to fund both capital and revenue projects, including equipment, plant and machinery costs, salary costs towards a new role, supporting initial rent for new premises, funding the cost of purchasing patents, IT software and much more.
The business support element of the programme has been awarded to Space Studios – a well-established organisation supporting the creative industry. Space is developing a business support programme tailored to meet the needs of creative businesses in the South East.

Please look at the Enterprise training for people who have never studied business.
It is VERY basic in this country.
There is a lot of room for improvement.
We also need to look at Manufacturing. Because thanks to Blair and Thatcher shipping them off to India and China/Asia the only thing we make in this country these days are broken dreams.
We need to export not import from Asia. They are killing us.
I wish those considering a creative venture luck. Just make sure you do the market research, cash flow have good start up capital to start with. Oh and look at a mentor with industry experience. The rest the enterprise hubs should be able to teach you.
Hope to see you listed on the AIM market.
