Have fun at Thurrock’s libraries and hubs this Easter
KEEP the kids entertained during the Easter half-term holiday next month at Thurrock’s libraries and hubs.
For those who enjoy arts and crafts, Grays Library will run two events during the two-week break on Monday 8 April and Monday 15 April. The first session ‘Make your own cardboard story puppet’ is suitable for ages five and over, while children of all ages can take part in ‘Easter crafts’.
Both events run from 10.30am to 12pm and there is a suggested voluntary donation of 50p per child.
Aspiring coders aged nine to 11 can be challenged at Corringham Library’s Holiday Code Crackers club. Two one-hour sessions will be held across two days. The first on Monday 8 April from 11am to 12pm is ‘Adventures in Space with Scratch’ and from 12pm to 1pm its ‘Zombies, creepers and chickens which moo with Minecraft coding’.
On Friday 12 April, children can ‘Create your own music with Sonic Pi’ from 11am to 12pm. Then from 12pm to 1pm it’s ‘Animation with the BBC Microbit’.
Booking for the Holiday Code Crackers events is essential and a parent or guardian must accompany their child. The total cost is £5 for all four sessions or £2 per session.
Chadwell Hub will also hold a stand-alone event on Saturday 13 April from 10am to 1pm. Children can take part in a range of Easter activities and events, while adults enjoy a raffle and stalls.
