Public meeting set to discuss the future of the Thames

Public meeting about the Thames – 7 May

THE River Thames will be discussed at a public meeting taking place at the London Cruise Terminal at Tilbury on Tuesday 7 May 2019 at 6.30pm.

The meeting will be hosted by Port of London Authority (PLA) chief executive Robin Mortimer and PLA chief harbour master, Bob Baker.

They will begin with a brief presentation on current and future issues on the tidal Thames. The floor will then be open to public discussion and question and answer session.

The meeting is free – and open to anyone interested in the work and activities of the PLA on the tidal Thames and related river and port matters. Key issues include recreational use of the River; safety matters; and use of the Thames for cargo, passengers, leisure and tourism.

· venue: London Cruise Terminal, Port of Tilbury, Essex RM18 7NG

· start time: 6.30pm. (refreshments will be available from 6.00pm)

· nearest public transport: Tilbury Town train station or bus 99 from Tilbury Brennan Rd – Tilbury Town station to Tilbury ferry and a five minute walk to cruise terminal

· there is car parking available at the cruise terminal
