What does BATIAS do?
SET up in 1992, BATIAS has historically worked with people with learning disabilities however they can also support people with physical and sensory impairments, complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
Through the provision of advocacy BATIAS empowers individuals to secure their rights obtain services and make positive, informed choices about their lives.
BATIAS provides Formal, Citizen and Self Advocacy in South and West Essex, this includes the Unitary Authorities of Southend and Thurrock.
As part of The Grays Lives project, we went down to The Beehive in Grays to find out from Katie Knight how they are helping people with learning disabilities in Grays
