Celebrating a summer of fun at Grangewaters
FAMILIES and young people came together this week to celebrate the programme of exciting activities taking place at Grangewaters Outdoor Education Centre this summer.
Throughout the summer holidays young people have been enjoying activities at the centre including kayaking, paddle boarding, climbing and biking. This August has also seen the launch of a series of Yacht Club sessions which aim to teach young people the knowledge and skills to safely sail a yacht.
Grangewaters is an outdoor education centre set within 70 acres of Thurrock’s natural woodland and boasts two lakes, on-site accommodation and activity areas that allow for mountain biking, archery, bushcraft, zip-lining and lots more activities. The centre also offers bespoke training packages including specialist sailing courses by the Royal Yachting Association and first aid training, alongside providing an exciting alternative for corporate away days and team building exercises.
Cllr James Halden, Cabinet Member for Education, said: “It’s great to see our young people learning and developing by engaging in the fun activities available at Grangewaters.
“Whatever your skill level, Grangewaters offers something for everyone. Whether it’s a birthday party, a team-building session with your work colleagues, a family activity day or a specialist training session, Grangewaters boasts an exciting collection of activities that you can get involved in.
“Whilst summer is our busiest season Grangewaters is a great opportunity for an adventure throughout the year with plenty of activities that are perfect for people of all ages.”
