Thurrock Council details improvement in services

MORE than 50 new apprentices recruited, reduced face to face waiting times for residents and 95% of volunteer placements at the council filled were just some of the positive results of Thurrock Council’s services between September and December 2019 claims Thurrock Council.

A quarter three performance report presented at Cabinet on Wednesday 11 March, showed that 85% of all key performance indicators were achieved during this period. This is a marked increase from 67.5% of all indicators achieving their target in for the same period in 2018/19.

Quarter three headline results from the report include:

98% of housing repairs completed within target
88% of places accessed for early years education for two year-old children in the borough
75% general tenant satisfaction for neighbourhoods and services provided by our Housing teams, up from 68% in 2018/19

Cllr Deborah Huelin, Cabinet member for central services and communities, said: “Once again our services have been going above and beyond to achieve some of their best results to date.

“In addition to 85% of targets being reached, 60% of all targets have also outperformed the previous year’s results from 2018/19, which is an unprecedented increase in performance for our services.

“Our achievements in meeting key performance targets has continually improved year-on-year which is fantastic and a tremendous credit to staff at all levels of the council who are delivering the best for Thurrock’s residents.

“As we come to the end of the 2019/20 financial year I look forward to us setting even more ambitious targets for the twelve months ahead and pushing the boundaries of what our services can achieve for residents.”
