HARDIE Park Cafe in Stanford le Hope announced it was to close its doors on Friday 20th March until further notice. The difficult decision was taken in the interest of health & safety for staff, volunteers and cafe customers following government advice and guidelines regarding the COVID-19 outbreak.
Rob Groves CEO of Friends of Hardie Park said, ‘Our cafe and clubs provide a lifeline for many in our community. We hope that we can support each other in other ways. Reach out, make a phone call, be neighbourly to those around us with social distancing in mind. We have an amazing, generous and caring community in SS17 and I am even more confident that it will continue, just in a different way.
“We are looking forward to opening the doors once again, when safe to do so! It’s going to be a tough time ahead for many small social enterprises and local businesses alike, in the meantime let’s stay positive and look after each other.’
