Essex Fire Service Control Room staff thank kind-hearted baker

EFRS

THE Control Room staff at Essex Fire and Rescue have expressed their thanks to a gesture from a kind-hearted baker.

The staff are continuing to work hard and so amateur baker Samantha’s decision to send in a consignment of sweet treats was particularly welcome.

Over the last two weeks, Samantha has been baking goodies for NHS staff, including at Basildon, Broomfield and St Peter’s hospitals, but turned her attention to our Service.

Claire Bannister, from White Watch Control, said: “She wanted us to know that people were thinking about us at Essex County Fire and Rescue Service too.

“We’re extremely grateful to Samantha for sparing a thought for us up here in our Control Room.

“These wonderful goodies have definitely put a smile on all our faces; a huge thank you to Samantha.”

Samantha plans to continue baking for key workers in our community. She said: “I can’t save lives but I can bake. I appreciate what everyone is doing and just want to put a smile on their faces.”
