THE NUMBER of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the area covered by Thurrock Borough Council has risen by 12 in a day, according to latest figures from NHS England (20 April).
This is a far larger increase than several days previous, and takes the total of confirmed cases in the area covered by Thurrock Borough Council to 230.
As confirmed yesterday, 750 patients sadly have died with coronavirus in Essex hospitals, with the remaining 200 coming close to the county’s border.
Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital remains the worst-hit in Essex and one of the worst-hit in the whole of the East of England – with 189 patients sadly confirmed to have died there with coronavirus.
Nationally another 449 patients have been recorded as sadly dying with coronavirus in UK hospitals as of yesterday (20 April), taking the total number to 16,509.
Please note that figures only take into account coronavirus-related hospital deaths and do not take into account other parts of the community such as care homes.
