Clinical staff member at St.Luke’s Hospice describes the impact of Covid-19 and how they are supporting the NHS

ST.LUKE’S Hospice in Basildon today (Wednesday 29 April) shared the first in a series of short videos from members of their clinical team, who are continuing to care for patients and their families during the ongoing crisis.

Nicki Seeley, Head of In-Patient Unit (IPU) and Infection Control Lead, speaks about the ways St.Luke’s are helping relieve some of the pressures on our NHS.

She mentions the restrictions to visiting that have had to be put in place following the ongoing changes to government guidelines.

St.Luke’s Hospice, Basildon said on their Facebook page: “St.Luke’s Hospice staff are working hard to incorporate technology to ensure families with loved ones on our IPU are able to stay in contact with each other throughout what is already an anxious time for them.

“Our staff on the In-Patient Unit deliver specialist care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – and are continuing to do so throughout these uncertain times. We rely on your generosity and support – today more than ever.
