WOMEN and girls across Thurrock are being invited to join the 14th Women Like Us festival delivered by This Girl Can Essex ambassadors. The festival will take place virtually over the weekend of 13th and 14th June.
From Clubbercise, Cardio Combat and DanceFit to Pilates, Yoga and Tai Chi, there are taster sessions for everyone to enjoy. From low impact to high energy the Women Like Us festivals are about empowering women to have fun and get active.
The free festival will take place on the Keep Essex Active YouTube channel across the weekend. Active Saturday will include activities from the likes of the Townsend Twins and MissFits Dance, whilst Mindful Sunday will see sessions from Wellness Warriors, the Animated Physio and many more.
There are now well over 350 This Girl Can Essex ambassadors across the county who inspire women in their local community to get active, meet new people and have fun. The ambassador programme is run by Active Essex, an active partnership, with the aim to change one million lives by getting Essex active.
Hayley Chapman, Active Essex thematic lead for Inclusion said: “It is great we are still able to hold our summer Women Like Us festival virtually. Although it won’t quite be the same, lots of participants are video-calling friends whilst they take part. It is a great opportunity to take some ‘me time’, try different activities and create a new habit to get fitter for the summer.”
