Thurrock MP seeks answer on role of pharmacies in Covid battle

THURROCK MP Jackie Doyle-Price rose on the floor of the House of Commons to ask a question on pharmacies.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what role he plans local pharmacies to play in delivering the Government’s ambition for widespread national testing for covid-19; and whether he plans to allocate additional funding to the pharmacy sector to ensure that sector’s long term sustainability.

“We will use existing testing facilities to meet our testing priorities. This will mean using testing both across National Health Service and Public Health England settings (pillar 1), as well as through pillar 2 tests at drive through, walk in and via home testing groups.

“As part of the 2020 Comprehensive Spending Review, funding for community pharmacy is being discussed”.


  1. Has she explained why she voted against lockdown yet despite us having one of the highest infection rates in the country? No, she’s waffling nonsense and as usual no one in the local news is questioning her.
