Grays Ath receive lottery funding help

GRAYS Athletic Community Football Club are delighted to announce that we have received £1,950 raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery to help develop and continue our youth section activities impacted by COVID-19.

The funding comes from Postcode Neighbourhood Trust, a grant giving charity funded by the lottery players and is providing funding in Great Britain to organisations affected by COVID-19 under the themes ‘Supporting your organisation’s resilience and adapting or expanding services to meet new challenges’.

Club Chairman, Steve Skinner said: “We are so pleased to receive the grant. Thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery, we can now recruit new volunteers, pay for checks required and FA qualifications. We hope this will make volunteering with us more accessible to all. The funding will help ensure that we are able to continue activities or develop new ones and that our youngsters are being coached in a safe environment. It will help prevent COVID-19 negatively impacting on our thriving youth section.

Existing volunteers have given their all to ensure that our youth section continues to be viable during the pandemic. They have adapted activities to meet COVID-19 guidelines and taken on much more responsibility than ever before. This has been very time consuming and stressful for some, doing this along with the impact COVID-19 has had on their personal lives. The funds will also help us to recognise and celebrate this contribution, which will not only help retention, but will positively improve their own wellbeing and health as well.”

Players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £600 Million to date. At least 32% of each ticket goes towards good cause and charities.
