THE first phase of the NHS Covid-19 vaccination programme has now started.
People in the top priority groups, agreed by the independent Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, are starting to be offered vaccination appointments in our area.
Getting to this stage has taken an incredible amount of hard work and planning. You have an important part to play in helping the NHS deliver the vaccine in a safe and effective way.
- please don’t contact the hospital or your GP about the vaccine; the NHS will let you know when it’s your turn to be vaccinated
- when we do contact you, please attend your booked appointments. You will need to have two doses of the vaccine, at least 21 days apart
- and please continue to follow all the national COVID guidance.
It is really important to continue washing your hands regularly and thoroughly, wear a face covering and keep a safe distance apart from people even after having your vaccination.
It will take some weeks to invite all those in the priority groups to have their vaccination.
If you receive an invitation to have your vaccine, you may want to know more about what the vaccine means for you and what to expect after your vaccination.
