THE A13 will be closed in both directions between the A128 (Orsett Cock roundabout) and the A1014 (Stanford-le-Hope) this weekend to demolish Horndon Bridge safely.
The closure takes place from 9pm on Friday 5 March until 5am on Monday 8 March. Drivers are advised to avoid the area where possible and measures will be put in place to help keep local traffic on the move.
Local traffic will be diverted via the A1013 Stanford Road. Non-local traffic should avoid the A13 and use alternative routes such as the A127.
Additional traffic management measures will be deployed in Horndon-on-the-Hill and at the Stanford Road/Buckingham Hill Road junction to minimise the impact on local roads.
The new Horndon Bridge will be closed while the demolition of the old bridge takes place, to ensure the safety of the public. This means there will be no direct access available between Horndon-on-the-Hill and Stanford-le-Hope. Please plan your journey in advance to identify alternative travel arrangements.
