DESPITE attempted assurances about the risk of asbestos in the Grays high rise flats, Grays councillors Tony Fish, Martin Kerin and Jane Pothecary are set to meet senior council officers and public health officials to further outline residents’ concerns and press for further assurances around resident safety.
In a joint statement, they said:
“The presence of asbestos is very worrying. Whilst we have seen the administration’s responses to us and to the press, we feel that they do not go far enough.
“As ward councillors, our residents expect us to fight for their safety. We need to make sure everything possible is being done to keep our residents safe.”
