Ask Teddi app designed to support parents and guardians launched in Thurrock

ASK Teddi a free app that offers advice and information for parents and carers of children under 5 years-old in Thurrock is now available to download.

The app, which in Thurrock stands for ‘Ask Thurrock Early Development Digital Initiative’ gives parents and carers a toolkit of expert and evidence based advice as well as giving them access to reliable resources and information around the clock.

Cllr James Halden, Cabinet Member for Children’s and Adult Social Care, said: “Ask Teddi is a unique and innovative use of digital technology that is able to provide personalised information to its users.

“Research shows that the first 1001 days of a child’s life are crucial and this app will support parents and carers in making sure they are giving their child the best possible start in life.

“The support this will provide the parents of Thurrock with is invaluable. Parents can often worry that they aren’t doing the right thing, or should do things differently. Some then look to the internet for answers, but this can result in accessing incorrect or out of date information. This free app is a great tool that will ensure that accurate and expert information is readily available, to all parents and carers of children aged five and under.

“We have had a great response so far from parents who have trialled the app and we can’t wait to see the greater impact it will have now that it is widely available for everyone in Thurrock.”
